Salary: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00

About CDA: 

Having served the high-end of the Development community for over three decades, the CDA team has become a leading choice for complex, mixed-use high-rise design and Master planned communities throughout the West Coast of North America. In the past decade alone, CDA has designed over 100 high-rise towers including condominiums, rental, hotel, office and hospitality uses and totaling well over 25,000,000 s.f. Prominent local projects include the transit-oriented 2M s.f. Station Square community in Metrotown and 1.7M s.f. SOLO District at the Brentwood Tower Center. We have a significant presence in municipalities throughout the Lower Mainland, Calgary, Edmonton, and Toronto, and United States, where we have completed numerous successful projects in the cities of Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Irvine, and San Diego, CA. 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Review projects in the field to ensure compliance with construction documents; 
  • Ensure field reviews are undertaken in keeping with applicable codes and current practices; 
  • Make substantial completion inspections/determination with list of deficiencies; 
  • Produce and distribute supplemental drawings and interpretations in response to requests for clarification by contractors/owners; 
  • Provide review and circulation of shop drawings and RFIs, prepare and review Change Orders, and manage project closeout services as required; 
  • Maintain up-to-date project records, in full accordance with company standards; 
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients, contractors, and team members. 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Intermediate to Senior Technologist or Intermediate to Senior Architect with 5 or more years of Contract Administration experience; 
  • Experience in hi-rise residential and mixed-use preferred. Applicable similar or commercial experience will be considered; 
  • Canadian experience preferred; 
  • Proficiency with Revit and/or AutoCAD, Revit preferred; 
  • In depth understanding of contract document drawings and specifications; 
  • A strong understanding of construction process paperwork handling, including but not limited to RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, certificates for payment, and letters of assurance; 
  • Forward thinking and ability to plan ahead and schedule; superior time management skills; 
  • Ability to handle multiple project responsibilities simultaneously; 
  • Ability to find common ground and develop good working relationships with construction site leaders, clients, and team members. 
  • A valid driver’s license; 
  • Excellent oral and written communication.
